Sourcing and Using Firewood at Coety Bach

The Heart of a Cosy Stay

At Coety Bach, firewood is central to creating a warm and inviting experience for our guests. Whether you’re lighting the wood-fired hot tub, warming the cabin’s log burner, or gathering around the fire pit, the comforting crackle of logs makes your stay special.

Here’s everything you need to know about how firewood is sourced, what’s included, and how to get more if you need it.

Locally Sourced and Sustainably Managed

The Wood-fired Hot Tub

We take pride in sourcing our firewood locally. Our logs come from nearby woodlands, where sustainable forestry practices ensure that every log is responsibly harvested. This supports the local economy and keeps the environmental impact as low as possible.

Our wood is seasoned and cut to the perfect size for use in the hot tub, log burner, or fire pit. The kindling provided is carefully prepared to make lighting as easy as possible, whether setting up the hot tub or cosying up by the fire indoors.

What’s Included in Your Stay

Each booking includes a basket of firewood and kindling. You’ll find this ready and waiting in the cabin, and you can use it however you like:

  • Starting the process for the wood-fired hot tub for an authentic and peaceful soak.

  • Keep the cabin warm and snug, especially on chilly evenings, with our log burner.

  • Enjoy an evening under the stars with a roaring fire pit.

This initial basket is enough for your first fire stay, but you may need more wood if you plan to use the hot tub or keep the fire burning throughout.

Additional Firewood

If you run out of firewood, don’t worry. Additional sacks of logs are available on-site for £6 per sack. These can be used for any purpose and are sourced from the same high-quality local supply.

You’ll find the firewood easy to access, (its in the metal bins by the green and white shed at the bottom of the steps.) We’re always happy to help if you have questions about getting the fire started. Let us know if you need tips for lighting the hot tub or the best way to keep the log burner going.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Firewood

  • Plan Ahead: If you’re lighting the hot tub, start as soon as you arrive to give it plenty of time to warm up. The water takes between 3 and 4 hours to heat.

  • Mix and Match: Use the kindling to build a strong base before adding the larger logs.

  • Reheat Efficiently: You can the hot tub for multiple days, it will still be warm the next day, so you will just need to light for burner for a short time to reheat your water.

A Note on Sustainability

We’re committed to minimising waste and promoting eco-friendly practices. Using seasoned, sustainably sourced wood ensures that every log burns efficiently and cleanly. If you’re keen to know more about where the wood comes from, we’re always happy to chat and share the story of our local suppliers.

Warm Memories Await

There’s something magical about a real wood fire, whether heating the hot tub, adding a glow to the cabin, or flickering under the stars. It’s all part of the Coety Bach experience, and we’re here to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy it.

Need more firewood or have questions about your stay? Don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help make your stay as cosy and memorable as possible.
