Royal Welsh Show
21st to 24th July 2025 - Llanelwedd (nr Builth Wells)
Probably the biggest event in the Mid Wales calendar, the Royal Welsh Show showcases the best of Welsh agriculture by way of a number of events, displays, competitions and attractions.
Bringing together rural communities ‘The Show’ is a big social occasion and celebration. Coety Bach is located approximately 25 minutes from the Showground in Llanelwedd. Close enough to reach but away from the crowds.
The Mid Wales Autumn Fayre
October 2025 - Llanelwedd
With an emphasis on celebrating smallholding and rural life, the festival is packed full of interesting things to see, delicious food and drink, live music, country sports, shopping, demonstrations, and educational activities. There’s also a busy two-day programme of competitions and displays.
The Winter Fair
25th to 26th November, 2024- Llanelwedd
Also held at the Showground in Llanelwedd, the Winter Fair has more than one eye on Christmas, with trade stands offering shopping opportunities and numerous food and drink stalls, the Winter Fair certainly reminds people of what’s around the corner.
Man v Horse
14th June 2025 - Llanwrtyd Wells
What started as a conversation in a pub in 1980 has developed into a global event. Covering 22 miles it is the ultimate test of endurance and the precursor to other alternative events held in Llanwrtyd. Approximately 40 minutes away, Coety Bach can be used as a base if you wish to participate or simply watch and take in the festivities.
Bog Snorkelling World Championship
24th August 2025 - Llanwrtyd Wells
Previously listed by ‘Lonely Planet’ as one of the top 50 things to do from around the world, the World Bog Snorkelling Championships attracts a global following.
Involving a 60m swim along a peat bog, the current World record is 1 minute 18.82 seconds. The bog is located about a mile from the centre of Llanwrtyd and includes a day of festivities in the town. Within striking distance of Coety Bach, we dare you to take the plunge!
Green Man Music Festival
14th to 17th August 2025 - Crickhowell
One of the most family friendly and laid back festivals, The Green Man offers 4 days of live folk, indie, rock and dance music alongside Literature, Science, Theatre and Comedy tents and stalls.
With a strong ethical and environmental focus, The Green Man refuses commercial sponsorship. A multi award winning festival.
Brecon Jazz Festival
7th to 21st August 2025 - Brecon
Playing host to a range of National and International artists, the Brecon Jazz Festival was first organised in 1984. Past headline artists included Amy Winehouse, Van Morrison, Dionne Warwick and Jools Holland. The town comes alive with fringe events and concerts during a busy and lively weekend.
