River Wye at Builth Wells
A 30 minute drive from Coety Bach, the River Wye at Builth Wells offers accessible spots for wild swimming. The gentle flow and clear waters make it suitable for a leisurely swim, while the surrounding countryside provides a picturesque backdrop.
Elan Valley

Approximately a 40-minute drive from the cabin, the Elan Valley is renowned for its stunning landscapes, waterfalls and reservoirs. While swimming in the reservoirs is prohibited, the area offers several river spots ideal for wild swimming. Exploring the trails around the valley can lead you to secluded spots and plunge pools, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip amidst nature. We have some ‘secret’ locations that we share with our guests who are looking for lesser known hidden gems.
Wash Pool, Llanwrtyd Wells
Located about 45 minutes from Coety Bach, the Wash Pool near Llanwrtyd Wells is a popular wild swimming spot. This natural pool offers clear waters surrounded by lush greenery, providing a tranquil setting for a swim. It's a favourite among locals and visitors seeking an invigorating wild swimming experience.
Fforest Fields, Hundred House
Approximately 35 minutes away, Fforest Fields offers a beautiful freshwater lake suitable for wild swimming. While primarily a campsite, they welcome day visitors for a small fee. The lake is well-maintained and provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages.
